Air New Zealand — party airline

Hats off to Air New Zealand for some innovative marketing.
The airline is taking bookings in the US for a special lonely hearts trip in October from Los Angeles to New Zealand. It is being billed as the world's longest matchmaking flight.
US singles are signing up for what promiuses to be one non-stop party in many time zones. They will be offered a pre-flight gate party in Los Angeles Airport, themed food, drink, entertainment and games during the flight and a Great Matchmaking Ball while in Auckland.
Seat allocation on this flght, we imagine, will not be strictly enforced.
It is not the only quirky marketing being undertaken by Air New Zealand. It recently launched a domestic television advertisement showing staff, including baggage handlers, pilots, cabin crew and even chief executive Rob Fyfe, at work wearing very little but body paint.
We think the pilots should at least put their hats back on before flying a plane.
